Per la Germanotta sarà quasi impossibile ribaltare la situazione in casa Academy, perché i votanti dei SAG sono proprio i votanti degli Oscar. Attori che votano attori.
La vera sorpresa della nottata è stata Rami Malek, che ha battuto il superfavorito Christian Bale, così come Emily Blunt, miglior attrice non protagonista con A Quiet Place. Peccato che la Blunt, ai Sag candidata anche come miglior attrice per Mary Poppins Returns, sia stata vergognosamente snobbata agli Oscar. Insensatezze di Hollywood. Mahershala Ali, invece, ha già prenotato il suo 2° Oscar come miglior attore non protagonista dopo il trionfo ai tempi di Moonlight. Fino a 3 anni fa nessuno sapeva chi fosse, e l’anno prossimo vincerà tutto anche in ambito tv grazie a True Detective. Clamoroso.
In ambito tv, invece, tutto più o meno giusto, con The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in trionfo, i due mostruosi Darren Criss e Patricia Arquette giustamente premiati e il super cast di This Is Us celebrato.
