GLAAD Media Awards 2014 in salsa pop grazie a Jennifer Lopez, premiata con il Vanguard Award per gli sforzi fatti nell’aumentare la visibilità e l’accettazione nei confronti dei gay, bisessuali, lesbiche e transgender. Oltre ad essere da sempre una sostenitrice dei diritti glbtq, nonché frociara DOC, J Lo è la produttrice esecutiva della serie ABC The Fosters, che ha come protagoniste una coppia di lesbiche con figli. Proprio The Fosters, in casa Glaad, ha vinto un premio in quanto miglior serie tv drammatica di stagione.
Nella prima delle due cerimonie di premiazione (la prossima si terrà a New York il 3 maggio), ci sono stati importanti riconoscimenti anche per Behind the Candelabra e per lo straordinario duo Tegan and Sara, riuscite a battere Elton John, Goldfrapp, Lady Gaga e Vampire Weekend nella categoria Outstanding Artist Musica.
Evento decisamente tutt’altro che scontato.
