The Shape of Water, già Leone d’Oro all’ultima Mostra del cinema di Venezia, è stato eletto film dell’anno, con il messicano incoronato anche miglior regista.
Chiamami col tuo nome di Luca Guadagnino ha vinto il premio per la miglior sceneggiatura non originale, scritta da James Ivory, con Gary Oldman, Frances McDormand, Sam Rockwell e Allison Janney in trionfo tra gli attori esattamente come ai Golden. La strada verso gli Oscar, per loro, è spianata.
In ambito televisivo, invece, ennesimo successo per The Handmaid’s Tale e Big Little Lies, che hanno letteralmente dominato la lunga stagione dei premi iniziata con gli ultimi Emmy, così come ha trovato conferma la comedy The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, a breve finalmente anche su Amazon Italia. Si chiude con RU PAUL, eletto miglior presentatore di un reality.
